Unique Hilde

I spend my spare time with my family and playing music. I am always looking to learn new things. As such, I recently started learning piano, and I have picked up the guitar again, writing songs and enjoying getting into the flow.

I am a lifelong learner, as I always seek to grow by learning from others or helping others succeed. I get motivated by working with people and accomplishing new heights together. Creative outlets motivate me too. A brainstorming session on how to develop a business or re-think the strategy to achieve your goals gives me energy. Innovation is another important motivator for me. Understanding the cutting edge of technology and figuring out how to apply it is exciting!

I consider Ricardo Semler a hero because of his ideas on running a business by giving people the power to be accountable and responsible for their actions and outcomes. Steve Jobs is not a hero in my mind considering his management style, yet his visionary ideas and the fantastic commencement speech he gave at Stanford gave me a great motto to go by: stay hungry, stay foolish.

My advice to my younger self would be to enjoy every step of the way and not stress over being perfect. Nothing is perfect, and luckily so. Feel empowered to follow your intuition because it is the perfect compass.

I want to make a difference by helping people grow and supporting them with the learnings I got throughout my career and life. Inspiring others to become the best version of themselves and help remove those doubts that inevitably exist in everybody.

As your mentor, I can listen, am empathic, and quickly understand complex problems to break them down into small consumable pieces. I am open and honest. Authenticity is crucial to me; what you see is what you get. I genuinely care and will do what it takes to help you grow professionally and personally.

I didn't officially have a mentor in my career, but as it turned out, I did have several. One is still my mentor, even though he lives on the other side of the world.

As a last thought: mindset is everything. How you look at the world, at your challenges or opportunities determines the outcome.
