During the Summer of 2021, we toured Flanders to meet up informally with our mentors.
We had to compensate for almost 10 months without physical meetings.
The concept is simple: just meeting up, getting to know each other, connecting and enjoying food & drinks.
From our side, it is the perfect occasion to give our mentors a business update.
🥂 Nothing better than having a drink together 🥂
Last Thursday, we kicked-off our Summer Café Tour in Flanders at Van der Valk Hotel Ghent.
💻 After almost 10 months of only virtual meetings, it is time to compensate.
The purpose was to catch up with our mentors in an informal setting.
🎉 No formal agenda
🎉 Just getting to know each other (most of them have never met physically)
🎉 Connecting and
🎉 Enjoying food & drinks
From our side, it was the perfect occasion to give a business update and ask for feedback.
Thanks Elke Spinnewyn, Jan VAN HYFTE, Dries Vandevyvere, Griet Beckx, Filip Vanderbeken, Vinciane Verbiest, Marc Loeys, Tom Asselberghs, Dirk De Waegeneire and Anneleen Demasure for being present.
The excellent Summer weather and the special location at the inner garden of Martin's Hotels in the heart of the historic city Leuven made for a warm and very relaxed get-together of Ambits mentors.
Nothing beats talking to people face-to-face!
Thank you, Hilde Smets, Erna Vanden Wyngaert, ir, Daniel Van den Broeck, Frank Dethier, Luc Goossens, Stefaan Butaye, Yves Pollé, Michel Welters, Maarten Helmer, Kris Mampaey, Sophie Moens, Johan Van Vaerenbergh, and Luc Rademakers for your enthousiasm!
📌 Do you know why our mentors want to be a mentor?
🔗As you can see in the video, we did a tour of the group. Everyone presented themselves briefly and explained why they wanted to be a mentor (and joined Ambits).
This is what came out:
👉 I want to help others growing
👉 I want to give back
👉 I want to share my expertise
👉 I want to give tips & tricks
👉 I want to give people a gentle push in the right direction
👉 I want to create a visible impact
👉 I want to avoid that others make the same mistakes I made.
That’s why they prefer mentoring over coaching.
