Gastronomy, traveling, skiing, and going to concerts and festivals sums up the favorite pass times of Esther and her family.
Not in the least interested in any physical activities close to sports, and then achieving a 43 km marathon on her 43rd birthday shows Esther's tenacity. It is her family and friends' belief that she could pull it off and their endless encouragement that motivated her across the finishing line.
Believing in someone can do wonders; encouragement on the sidelines cannot be underestimated; a pat on the back makes all the difference. One person can truly make a difference to another person, and that is what motivates Esther. What is more beautiful than helping people who don't think something is possible to make it happen anyway?
In that respect can triathlete Marc Herremans be called a hero. Keeping such immense positivity in such enduring challenges, supported by his loving family, makes man transcend himself.
Esther's mottos are:
🧠 "A healthy mind in a healthy body": people who are not mentally okay cannot perform optimally physically and vice versa. Look at what needs working on first.
💭 "Wish it, dream it, do it": I'll move heaven and earth to achieve something.
"A tough woman," Esther calls her former mentor, "who seemed to ask the impossible." But she managed to push Esther a little further and stretch. And she was always available to her no matter the moment. Her mentor made all the difference for Esther in her professional life, a realization that came only later.
