Mentoring is second nature to me

In my spare time, I gravitate toward experiences that combine focus, adrenaline, and discovery. You’ll find me on the golf course, behind the wheel of a powerful car, exploring the underwater world through scuba diving, or travelling to places that broaden my perspective.

If there is one person who embodies a mindset I admire, it is Richard Branson—someone who dares to push boundaries, embraces adventure, and turns bold ideas into reality. That same spirit is reflected in a motto that resonates with me: if you don’t have scratches on your cardboard, you’re not driving fast enough. It’s a reminder that growth rarely comes without friction, and that playing it too safe often means standing still.

Looking back, the advice I would give my younger self is simple but crucial: choose your partners wisely, and always keep your own future in mind. The people you surround yourself with will shape your trajectory more than you realize.

Mentoring is a natural extension of my journey. I have been fortunate to learn from several mentors throughout my career—during my time at Telenet, at ING, and at NTX, as well as through my involvement with Junior Chamber International (JCI), both within and outside the organizations. Their guidance has been invaluable. Passing on that experience is something I genuinely enjoy; it gives me energy and purpose.

Ultimately, I believe that the best things in life are already within reach. The difference lies in how far you are willing to stretch yourself to go after them.
