🌧οΈ What do you do on a drizzly Sunday afternoon?
🍷 Jazz music, a glass of wine and browsing through the bookcase again.
Randomly grabbing a few books and reading a few passages.
My eye fell on the book Detox je Leven (Detox your Life) by Marjan Decat. I bought it two years ago on the advice of a former colleague. I hadn't noticed it in the bookcase for a long time but yesterday it somehow attracted me.
I got stuck on the following quote:
🦉 What we think has a direct impact on how we feel
🦉 We can decide whether we fill ourselves with nourishing or toxic energy
🦉 We decide how we live our lives and how we look at what comes our way
🦉 We all have our own internal truth; releasing it can be very enriching
🦉 Our ego is a self-image we want to comply with, often to protect ourselves
These insights made me think:
👩β🎓 If you feel bad about something, confront the thought patterns or internal truths that are at the root of it.
👩β🎓 To change your feeling, try to change your thinking.
👩β🎓 If there is a big gap between who you are and who you would like to be, your ego is probably playing tricks on you on a regular basis.
Interesting to start the new working week with.
