The unique Wim
According to Wim, only original vinyl records bring out Thelonious Monk's and Charles Mingus' jazz's richness and colorfulness. While listening to mahogany-turned-sound, one can find Wim behind the stove, as cooking is one of his hobbies. Or he's on a mountain bike, a motorbike, or sailing his catamaran together with his son. And then he still finds the time to read about psychology, strategy, mindfulness, change management, and leadership.
"No hero for me, he says, because I'm too down-to-earth." But he was blown away by Michele Obama as a keynote speaker at a conference Wim attended. It was the only time, and maybe the last time, Wim experienced a soul that has reached the highest level of human consciousness.
He regrets not having had a mentor because he might have made better choices, advised by compelling stranger's eyes. He'd say to be more patient to his young self and keep an eye on the moral compass.
Now it is time to pay it forward. It is very much to Wim's surprise that, though he gives most unconditionally, he is rewarded with essential life lessons from the younger generations.
